• Conversation data: Messages you send to AI companions, dialogue history, and facts extracted from conversations to personalise your experience.
• Avatar and companion data: Names, personas, preferences (such as gender selection for avatars), XP, levels, streaks, and custom companion configurations you create.

1.2 Information Collected Automatically

• Device and usage data: Device type, operating system, app version, and general usage patterns necessary to operate and improve the Service.
• Log data: Error logs and diagnostic information collected through Firebase and related infrastructure.
• Website cookies: When you visit our website, we may use cookies as described in our Cookie Policy.

1.3 Information Processed by Third-Party AI Services

When you chat with AI companions, your messages and relevant conversation context are sent to Google Gemini (via the Google Generative AI API) to generate responses. This processing is necessary to provide the core functionality of EmotionVerse. We do not sell your conversation data to third parties.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide, maintain, and improve the EmotionVerse Service
• Authenticate your account and sync your data across devices via Firebase
• Generate AI companion responses and extract user facts for personalisation
• Track mood patterns and display insights within the app
• Send service-related communications when necessary
• Detect, prevent, and address technical issues or misuse
• Comply with applicable legal obligations

3. Legal Basis for Processing (India)

We process your personal data in accordance with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act) and other applicable Indian laws. Processing is based on your consent (provided when you create an account and use the Service), contractual necessity (to deliver the Service you request), and legitimate interests (to improve security and functionality).

4. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored using Google Firebase (Authentication and Cloud Firestore), which may process data on servers located outside India. We implement reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

5. Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell your personal data. We may share information with:

• Service providers: Firebase (Google), Google Gemini AI, and Google Sign-In — solely to operate the Service
• Legal requirements: When required by law, court order, or government authority
• Business transfers: In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, with notice to users where required

We retain your data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. You may request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting support@timeground.in.
